Meet 5 Results + reminders for the rest of the week

What a night! Congrats on a great win, Tiger Sharks! The final score was Lake O 628, Sweetwater 527.

Results have been posted here: https://www.lostts.org/meet-results

Important: If you see anything that looks odd in the results, please reply to this message no later than 10 am on Tuesday. Once these times are submitted, they are official and will be used as part of the seeding process for the meet of champions.

Entries into the Meet of Champions are now closed. Any swimmer who has participated in at least 2 meets and has a legal stroke will swim those strokes at the MOC (unless you've told us you won't be participating).

Here's what's happening the rest of the week:

Tuesday, July 3rd - No practice

Wednesday, July 4th - Firecracker Practice! Come work out in the morning and then you can go watch fireworks with your family that night because....

Thursday, July 5th - No practice! Sleep in and rest up for the Meet of Champions!

Friday, July 6th - Meet of Champions

The Meet of Champions is a competition between all of the teams in our division. It's broken up into two parts. The morning session is for swimmers ages 10 & Under and the afternoon session is for swimmers ages 11 & Up.

10 & Under swimmers in the morning session should plan to arrive no later than 6:45 am (yes, that's a real time!) for warm ups to begin at 7:00 am. The meet will begin at 8:00 am and the goal is to be done by noon. Swimmers should bring all the usual meet gear.

11 & Up swimmers in the afternoon session should plan to arrive no later than 1:45pm for warm-ups to begin at 2:00. The meet will begin at 3:00 pm and the goal is to be done by 7:00 pm. Swimmers should bring all the usual meet gear.

The Meet of Champions is your swimmer's time to shine and show their best effort in all the strokes they've learned over the course of the season. This event is not only for elite swimmers, it's for every swimmer to swim their best in all their strokes so they can see their improvement since the first time trials. The results of the MOC are used to populate the All Star Meet.

The 2018 MOC will be held at the Don Cook Natatorium. Swimmers are eligible to participate if they have competed in two regular season meets and are expected to swim any stroke they have been able to swim legally over the course of the season. (excluding time trials) This is your swimmer's chance to see how far they've come over the course of the season. We want every swimmer to swim every stroke they qualify for so they can see their improvement. There are a lot of swimmers (4 teams worth!) so there will be time to rest between events.

The MOC is a computer seeded meet. This means that heat sheets are computer generated based on every swimmer in the division's individual time over the course of the season. The results of the MOC are used to populate the All Star Meet.

Team Party is this SUNDAY!

The Tiger Shark End of Season Party will be held on Sunday, July 8th starting at 5:00 pm in the pavilion next to the pool. Bring a camp chair and enjoy our award ceremony. We'll have special awards for every age group, we'll recognize our seniors and our Tiger Shark of the Year. You won't want to miss the paper plate awards - a fun Tiger Shark tradition! After awards are given, we'll dismiss the swimmers to the pool and have a quick team meeting as required by our by-laws. Then it's time to eat and have fellowship with your Tiger Shark family. Be sure to have your swimmer bring their team shirt so Meet of Champions stars can be added!

RSVP for the party here There is a $3 fee per person to help offset the cost of pizza, cake and party supplies.

Sign up to help with food and to volunteer at the party here.

See you Wednesday at the pool!
